Despite these challenges, it's been an amazing learning journey that has built my strength of character and resilience. One of the best pieces of advice I've received for this is to accept that it won't always work out with everyone but there's learning opportunities with every difficult experience. I'm sure I haven't finished learning this the hard way!It takes time in developing trust and camaraderie within the team. A resilient team can adapt to challenges, support each other, and drive the company forward even in tough times. Strategic StorytellerโI help visionary leaders create radical behavior change at scale.

Climate & social entrepreneurs - we are building solutions for humanity's biggest crisis ever. But are we telling the right story?90+% of startups fail. Why? Often it's because our stories lack strategic coherence. That means our product, go-to-market, business model, culture, and/or missions are not aligned with the complex realities of our markets. We might have great tech, but if we can't inspire customers, investors, employees and partners with a unifying narrative, we'll be dead on arrival. Our mission? Achieve Market-Story Coherence. Craft one strategic narrative that galvanizes every stakeholder to participate in the systemic transformation we want to see.To get there, we must open our minds through systems thinking. Deeply study the interconnected landscape until we sense the inherent unity underlying the chaos. Only then can we discern the story that brings coherence. Then we embody that story, structuring it clearly: The crisis that impacts each stakeholder. The mission that unites them. How our solution empowers their role in that mission. This becomes our core strategic messaging across every touchpoint. We are the visionaries and storytellers for a new era. As the world spins further into incoherence, we will weave the myths that re-imagine humanity's harmonic relationship with our planet and each other. The future is uncertain, but one thing is clear - those who achieve Market-Story Coherence will be the leaders who truly change the world. It's our choice to make.

Last week marked a milestone in my journey, though I must admit, it flew by in a whirlwind of proposals and client engagements. Amidst the hustle, I didn't have the chance to properly express my gratitude to those who cheered me on.Now that the proposals are submitted, I finally have a moment to reflect. First and foremost, a heartfelt thank you to all who supported me with likes, messages and referrals. Your encouragement means the world to me on a personal level. This past year has been about more than just hitting revenue targets. Itโs been a journey of growth, evolution and redefining the #startup narrative. From a solo endeavour to a growing team, we've experienced ups and downs, but each challenge has propelled us forward in realising our vision.Instead of chasing rapid growth and instant fame, weโve embraced the reality of building a #sustainablebusiness. Progress is measured not in leaps and bounds, but in the incremental steps taken towards our long-term goals. We've challenged the conventional notion of success and embraced alternative metrics that align with our mission. Our journey has been fuelled by meaningful endeavours. They serve as our compass, keeping us grounded and focused on creating lasting impact every single day.Our commitment to offering truly #creative solutions stems from a deeper desire to drive positive change through the cutting-edge #tech. Weโve evolved creatively, unleashing #innovative solutions for our clients in ways we never imagined. Each project weโve undertaken shows the unique value Aeris-UK brings to the table. And perhaps the best part of #entrepreneurship? The freedom to choose who we work with. Itโs been a key part of our journey, fostering fulfilment and camaraderie in every collaboration.Thank you for being part of our journey. #businessjourney #entepreneurchronicles

As a founder, Iโve sometimes struggled to "productise" my valueโฆAfter some analysis, I realised Iโm a human being, not a product. With a degree in product design, I feel qualified to make that distinction. ๐Yet, I provide tangible and intangible value, much like a product might, so the confusion is understandable.Ok, enough poking fun at business as usual... ๐คฃPlaying along with this business game, hereโs my point:โMission-Lockโ is one of the key offerings from my range of products and coaching services. Itโs vital for shareholders and start-ups pursuing impactful ventures, especially those tackling critical issues like global warming, social injustice, and nature degradationโareas that require fundamentally new business approaches to ensure positive impact, avoid "greenwashing," build resilience and much more. However, Mission-Lock is systemic, holistic, and deeply complex. The term itself doesnโt convey the whole story or specify the business aspects it impacts, and the resultโavoiding "Mission Drift"โis equally vague. It can't be plugged in or sit neatly on a shelf. So, how are founders supposed to know if they need it, especially when most influential institutions, accelerator schemes, and consultancies focus on maximising capital and shareholder primacy over making a real impact? One of my clients recently left a review that encapsulates my value better than I can. It covers Mission-Lock without mentioning the word or "product" once. They approached it from a human level, not a product level. They work with me weekly and can communicate this more effectively due to their excellent communication skills and firsthand coaching experience. They call me their "Mission Guardian," making Make Honey Ventures not just a toolbox for founders but a community and support network.I'd love to share their words with you. NINE YEARS AGO OUR AUDIENCES LOVED THE "SMALL IS BEAUTIFUL" MANTRA BUT NOT TODAY. Our audiences today are in a very different place - many are sceptical. Yet, happy, enterprising people are even more important for the economy, new job creation, sustainability, communities, wellbeing and the quality and fulfilment in our working lives. The image below is the promo for our tour in 2015. The photo was taken at the "Small is Beautiful", global conference in the lovely theatre of the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in Glasgow. Three years later we toured with a very different show - "The Micro Myths and Magic Show", as an antidote to corporate, influencer and government spin, costs and policies. This was creating debt and depression for enterprising people in companies and self employed. The 3 year survival rate of new #startups was both appalling and totally unnecessary. Since, 2021, we've toured with the "Be More Happipreneur" Show which is a joyful celebration of happy, entrepreneur role models and the philosophy and enterprise skills they share. It's never been more important for Jenn Crowther, Ian Farrar and me, to share our passion for enterprise, practical know-how and know-who with our audiences, whether employed or self employed, so that they and their businesses succeed. Nine years ago, our audiences were much more secure. It was easier to make ends meet. They are more doubtful today that "small is beautiful" is relevant. Many need to have their questions answered honestly Many need cheering up. Many need to know that an enterprising work-life remains SIMPLY THE BEST. ๐

Is entrepreneurship just building businesses or building a mindset? During my time in executive positions at top-tier companies, success was the only acceptable outcome. My corporate world was dominated by meticulous decision-making, strategic planning, and risk aversion. Then came my entrepreneurship journey. I swapped my corporate suit for a resilient entrepreneurial spirit, stepping boldly into unknown territories. Failures? Now they were stepping stones. Once, my path was linear, dictated by risk aversion, structured hierarchies and a pursuit of perfection. Deviations from the norm were not welcomed. As an entrepreneur, though, uncertainty became my playground. Swift decisions and market instinct were vital. This world thrived on innovation, every minute creative problem-solving, and welcomed chaos, using structured approaches, as HADI cycles (hypothesis, actions, data, insights), bootstrapping, and many others, avoiding complicated procedures as in the corporate world, ownership and quick failures and testing hypothesis were the keys for success. Entrepreneurship wasn't just about building a business, it was about cultivating a mindset. Trading rigidity for flexibility, convention for innovation, and certainty for resilience. It was more than a new way of working, it was a new way of living. I am currently in a position where I strive to strike a balance between taking risks in unpredictable situations and avoiding risks altogether. I have studied to mix corporate skills with an entrepreneurial mindset, and I believe that this combination is more powerful than staying on only one side. Many corporate companies try to cultivate an entrepreneurial mindset in the company, but if your employees don't try to make your own venture - no chance to cultivate it. Corporate companies aiming to foster an entrepreneurial mindset should support employee ventures. Establishing creativity labs, nurturing a company ecosystem startup community, and hosting startup talks can encourage innovation and risk-taking, essential for cultivating this culture within the organization. If interested, let me know - to share practices on that I have become pretty mature in how to develop this mindset in the corporate world now. Happy World Entrepreneur Day!On this World Entrepreneurs Day, I find myself reflecting on the incredible journey of innovation, challenges, and growth that comes with building a startup from the ground up.As a founding team member at incentiv, I've had the privilege of working alongside visionary entrepreneurs and innovative minds. This journey has been rich with learning opportunitiesโovercoming obstacles, celebrating small victories, and pushing the boundaries of what's possible. The road hasn't been easy. It's been filled with late nights, daunting challenges, tight deadlines, and countless iterations. But each challenge has given me a chance to grow, learn, and redefine what can be achieved. What truly stands out in this journey is the people I've met along the way. Connecting with incredible entrepreneurs and like-minded professionals who share a relentless drive to innovate has been one of the most fulfilling aspects of my experience. Every conversation, every shared experience, has deepened my understanding of what it means to not just engineer, but also of shaping meaningful ideasโunderstanding user needs, evaluating what's feasible within given timelines, and bringing those ideas to life.. From mind-boggling discussions on aligning business and engineering to intense, fun-filled team bonding moments, this journey has been nothing short of spectacular. ๐Looking ahead, I'm excited to continue solving problems, forging new connections, and contributing to a community of innovators and change-makers. The future is full of possibilities, and I'm eager to make a lasting impact in the industry.Letโs keep the conversation going!
