How to Share Apps With Another Android Device (2024)

If you just purchased a second Android device, you can have the same apps on both devices. For example, you can put the same apps on your Android tablet as you have on your Android phone. As long as your apps are from the Android Market, Android lets you do this with its built-in app management tools, and you don't need to pay for the apps again.

  1. 1.

Enter the same Google account username and password on the second device as you used on the first. This is the account that you enter when you first set up the Android device. If you've already used a different account on the second device, return it to factory settings. Press the "Menu" button and tap "Settings," "Privacy" and "Factory Data Reset." Then you can enter the correct Google account.

  2. 2.

Tap "Android Market" on the home screen of the second device.

  3. 3.

Tap "My Apps," "My Applications" or "My Downloads," depending on what your Android device says. You see a list of Android apps associated with your Google account. Tap "Install" next to an app's name to install any apps that you want on the second device. If you don't see an app listed that you have on the first device, the app isn't compatible with the second device. You can install it and see if it will work anyway, but you must search the market for it.
