The bus was delayed slightly (under an hour), so my rental was canceled. There were no vehicles left or effort to assist. We ended up calling the nearby enterprise and doing a same day booking direct since Hertz canceled our rental before we even arrived. I liked that they accommodated by request to pick up the care earlier than originally booked. Albeit for the price of renting it for one more day. I did not like that * the car I got warned that an oil change was required right from the pick up and all through our holidays. Turns out the regular car inspections had already been delayed by nearly 10,000 km (needed at 30K, we got the car at 38K). * when calling them, it always took several attempts to get through, the connection was always spotty * upon pick up, a sequence of "just 5 minutes", "just another 20 minutes" resulted in waiting nearly an hour for the car to be readyReviewed 14 Jul. 2023

They did not adequately inform me about after hours drop offs and no one answers the costumer support number at the rental location. The following day they reported that there was damage to the vehicle, but I had no incidents and have 4 witnesses who can attest that they saw no apparent damages to the vehicle while I was in possession of it. I tried to get this sorted but again, no answer to the number so I had to go in person. I booked insurance through kayak/allianz, which required me to have an estimate of the damage to make a claim. Hertz requires me to have a claim number to give me an estimate. I have been in this loop of calls, holds and frustration all day. In person, they only had one person who was able to assist me, and he also had to assist any other customers who came in, which made my wait much longer. All in all, I have wasted an entire day for damages that occurred unbeknownst to me and when I tried to work with them to sort it out, they sent me on a wild goose chase with little to know customer support.Reviewed 14 Mar. 2023

This location was in downtown Vancouver and the parking garage smelled of urine, it was quite dirty and the staircase area smelled of urine and other disgusting smells. Pickup location was not clear. Office closes after 5. The staff was very accommodating, very helpful and checkin was very pleasant. Got good $$ value for what I got. I had booked a midsize SUV, it wasn't available to they gave me a minivan and a $50 credited due to inconvenience of not getting what I booked. There are no gas station in the near vicinity so plan a gas fill up much in advance. I ended up paying $33 for 1/10 th tank of gas that i was short.Reviewed 10 Jan. 2023
