Associate’s degrees do not expire. However, over time, the ability to use an associate’s degree to transfer into another program may diminish. Though the credits you get from an associate’s degree can be transferred to another college or university to further your studies, and technically, the credits do not expire over time. Still, the ability to use those credits will diminish over time. Credits you get from STEM courses cannot be used for transfer after 10 years because advancements in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics evolve continuously at a furious pace in our world, and the knowledge you gained 10 years ago may no longer be a fit for today. To transfer credits for graduate programs, you should do so within seven years of your undergraduate degree; anything after that may not be accepted. Yes, associate’s degrees do not expire, but the credits you earned in the courses diminish with time.
