Bernadette Fall 2026 Fashion Review: Charlotte de Geyter's Ladylike Chic (2026)

Bernadette Fall 2026: A Celebration of Hostess Chic

The dynamic duo of Bernadette and Charlotte de Geyter, known for their playful take on ladylike dressing, presented an exquisite collection for their third season in Paris. This time, they collaborated with Belgian filmmaker Studio Alfons Meyer to craft a captivating short film, titled "The Hostess," that beautifully complemented the collection.

Set in a stately home, the film showcases a group of women preparing to host a party, serving as the perfect backdrop to explore the diverse personalities that inspired the designs. Charlotte de Geyter, the younger of the duo, highlighted the collection's versatility, "The women in our film are so unique, and that's what we love." She pointed to a pair of white shirts as an example: one with ample proportions in crisp poplin and the other more fitted, fluid, and girly.

De Geyter's creative vision is evident in the collection's prints. She designed allover delphinium spurs for a caftan, a satin evening gown, and a chiné hydrangea print that evokes a winter garden. The collection also features roses and cherry blossoms, with a playful twist of juicy berries embroidered onto gowns and delicate velvet evening pouches. New shoe styles include higher-heeled designs and hand-embroidered silk pumps.

The cozy knits in the collection received a floral makeover. A comfortable sweater with an intarsia motif is paired with a fuchsia silk evening gown in Bernadette's signature style. A ribbed khaki cardigan with appliqué embroideries is designed to be worn with a taffeta mid-length skirt, featuring bows that accentuate its dropped waist.

Signature ribbon details add a touch of elegance to the collection. They are featured on bright pink pajamas and crushed velvet dresses, highlighting the waist and shoulders. The gingham silhouettes with a twist, such as an asymmetric shoulder or a knitted reinterpretation, bring a contemporary update to a nostalgic wardrobe, paying homage to old-world glamour.
