As Rift DK2 is unsupported on oculus app, what better can DK2 be used for? (2024)
Wait... the DK2 does work on Oculus apps. You can't play apps that require VR controllers, but any game or software that doesn't require them or support gamepads can be played with the DK2. Unless something changed in the latest updates (I used my DK2 a few weeks ago and it worked fine).
Knowing that, here is the games that I suggest: - simulation games. Racing games, space sims, flight simulators... If you have the appropriate hardware, those are awesome in VR. - Rec Room. I didn't try to play with a VR headset and a gamepad at the same time, but since this game supports both, they should be working together. - Windlands. This is a must-play, even if you don't have VR controllers. - Minecraft. The Java version has a perfect VR mod, but I don't know if gamepads work with it. The Windows 10 edition has an official VR mode, and it does work with a gamepad, but it's not as good as the other one... Better try both, lol.
As long as the game supports other types of controllers, you can play this game with a DK2 and that type of controller.
The Oculus Rift DK2 improves on the original Oculus Rift in several ways, and at $350 is still one of the most affordable and accessible devices available for experimenting with virtual reality.
